I remember when Mike Hoss was the weekend sports guy for WWL. His dream job was the sport anchor for the CBS affiliate in Washington DC but James Brown(CBS NFL Today host) had the job on lock down.
He made the easy transition to news because he was a journalist first.
It was amazing the talent WWL can bring in and many of those would move on to network jobs. But now WWL as we knew it is going the way of many K&B, Maison Blanche et al...

I heard from a friend who just left the TV news world, and it's gonna keep happening. Local TV isn't worth it anymore, having to compete with social media, they're focusing less on TV product. It's more quality staff getting pushed out, and they're bringing in flashier, sexier people. Altogether though, Local TV is dying, and the smart ones are getting out while they're ahead, and the dumb ones are getting let go left and right.

I thought Laura got into pharma sales. If so, I highly doubt she will get back into meteorology. Laura seems like a lot of fun.
