Any way to not pay out of the arse for an almost two month car rental?

I know a guy who runs a little used car business, my plan was to approach him about renting something with high mileage. I'd keep a for sale sign on it and that may increase his chances of moving it.

Any other options?

Borrow one from your parents, or a friend that has two vehicles.

Buy a cheap car, sell it when you're done with it.

Maybe that's what I do from the used car dealer friend?

Buy a beater for $800 and then drive it off a cliff when done.

Not much. I just need to get around my small town.

Getting delivery of the wife's new rig mid September and I'm selling my truck...want to make sure I don't have 3 vehicles, so I want to start the process soon. Figure I'll just patch it together if it sells quickly.

Just an idea. I was in need of an extra vehicle for about 2 months awhile back, I bought a decent older Tahoe for $3000 while using it I fixed a few small repairs such as window swithes, etc. when i was done with it i sold it and made $400

Why not wait until your wife's rig arrives THEN sell yours? What's the rush?

I don't want a liability. Trying to minimize my risk, by not holding onto my truck too long, and I don't want something else to deal with.

I'm trying to minimize my note. It's basically a trade in that I think I can do better on. 4x4 Tacoma DCSB with a stick, Volvo isn't interested in giving me market value. I'm financing through a credit union, 3rd vehicle through them, and I just want the process to go off without a hitch.
