I am for the first time questioning my future here as we continue to watch the spiral of idiotic race think take over the sensibilities of elected officials.. common sense and common good is now labeled racist..

Just look at how these leaders speak about racial harmony while dividing races...it's mind blowing that they blame white people for causing the tension in the community. If white leaders used the same rhetoric they would be labeled as white supremacist

LINK to that quote please. I am having a hard time believing she called another black woman a "Yesa Masa" in writing. That could really blow up in her face.

Carolyn McKnight of Baker is a regular Walt Disney. Now why doesn't she raise her own capital to create her vision? Simple, other people's money is less risky and easy to spend.

They probably will spend all that money building that out there in baker only to have the culture ruin it all

the whole area is inconvenient to the vast majority of the parish

Actually that area is very convenient if you live anywhere near I-110, Zachary, Baker, Central or the unincorporated areas near them.

As far as money is concerned BREC is extremely well funded and has made some very smart decisions when building/rebuilding parks. I think if they did it, it would be a success.

Take a trip up North Sherwood Forest to the park they are building. Looks like it will be another win.

BREC is building/rebuilding parks all over the parish so everyone has something nice near them.

Before anyone assumes, no I have 0 affiliation with BREC or anyone that does. I just have seen the improvements and am impressed.

PS Banks sounds like a real pleasent person.

You have to remember that they learned this crap from their messiah Obama. He pretended to bring the races together while always reverting back to his beliefs of "if I had a son" BS!

They could build an Olympic swimming pool for future Olympic swimmers in that area to practice in.....oh wait!

It is sad to see that brec will pour money into an area where the park will be trashed.

Brec needs to start closing and selling off parks that are low usage or bad areas. It will be like six flags of New Orleans was. A huge money pit pre Katrina!

that's not enough population to sustain a decent zoo. The southern half of BR and Ascension aren't going to Baker for the most part

It's a no-brainer. The zoo has peaked in NBR with an avg of 150-200k visitors a year. Time for change. Nope...dont wanna drive my family to North Baton Rouge to look at half dead animals surrounded by shite-can shanty town houses. Sorry. It is what it is. And most agree with me.

They argue to keep the zoo in Baker bc they say it's the only revenue that area of town gets.

My aunts been involved in this and people in better parts of Baton Rouge have offered to donate land for a new zoo, but the powers that be don't want it to happen.

If they're honest, no one goes to the zoo, and while heading there or leaving, is spending any kind of decent money in that area. No one wants to be robbed while bringing their kids to the zoo, so the majority of people go there and leave, they don't spend hardly any money in the shitty city of baker.
