Just got this text
quote:

All Livingston Parish Public Schools will be closed on Monday, August 28, 2023. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, August 29th.

quote:

This morning at 5:14 AM multiple employees and schools received a threatening email, alleging bombs placed in schools. This email has been reported to the State Fusion Agency and apparently went out across our state. We are working with the state and local law enforcement regarding the threat. While we do not believe the threat is credible, LPPS refuses to place our staff and students in potentially unknown situation. As a result, LPPS is canceling all classes and activities for Monday Aug. 28, 2023 including after school activties. We anticipate returning to school on Tuesday Aug. 29 and we will keep all persons informed moving forward.

Something isn't odd just because you don't know the reasoning

Another bomb threat. That’s #2 already this year. This is getting ridiculous!

This is going to start to be a problem. This has happened multiple times already across multiple school districts and we're not even a month into the school year.

Yeah, it is more than just Livingston Parish. I anticipate others following suit.

Prompts effort to relatively easily track IP to host location right?

I guess unless its a mobile device in which case they find out which and where..

IT nerds.. Could that be done today?

All it takes is a kid with a computer who didn’t study for a test or is a complete narcissist on the other side of the world looking for laughs

Sounds like the same email was sent to multiple school districts all across Louisiana. Curious if any other schools or districts are shutting down.

I'm starting to think there is one person doing this every week to a different school/district

BR Magnet
LPPS
I thought I remembered others

From BR Magnet news update
quote:

During a news conference Wednesday afternoon, BRPD Chief Murphy Paul said that similar calls were recently made to schools in the Denham Springs, Houma and New Orleans areas. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office reported that it responded to a similar call sometime Wednesday.
