Livingston Parish schools closed today due to bomb threat

As a result, LPPS is canceling all classes and activities for Monday Aug. 28, 2023 including after school activties. We anticipate returning to school on Tuesday Aug. 29 and we will keep all persons informed moving forward.

Sounds like the same email was sent to multiple school districts all across Louisiana. Curious if any other schools or districts are shutting down.

During a news conference Wednesday afternoon, BRPD Chief Murphy Paul said that similar calls were recently made to schools in the Denham Springs, Houma and New Orleans areas. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office reported that it responded to a similar call sometime Wednesday.
