Levar Allen is getting lynched by Bossier City

The girl is white and initiated the sexting. This is fricked up beyond belief.
The kid is a three star athlete and has never had run ins with the law. Now he's got to deal with this for the rest of his life.

There should be some common sense in the law. Possession of your own picture shouldn't be any sort of crime. Possession, with no evidence of distribution, of imagery of a girl (or dude) you could legally frick, should be a misdemeanor - at most.
Now, if he distributed it, G-d help him. But that's where I think common sense should come in. He could legally have fricked this girl (probably did), but he can't have a nude picture of her? They're BOTH underage.

These sexting laws are completely irrational and dangerous. Ruining this kids life over something like this is reprehensible.

A minor can be charged with possession of child pornography. It sucks but it happens. What's fricked up to me is that if your going to charge the guy, you have to charge the girl if he sent her a video back. Ultimately the prosecutor should have a little better discretion than this, but legally he's completely justified, or would be in MS. I'm no expert on LA laws.

Not sure how that works. She's a minor, he isn't. Same thing with teachers hooking up with students. Teacher gets charged, kid gets off (pun intended).

He's under 18. Age of consent is 17, but there is no crime if the difference in age is less than 2 years - if they fricked.
