They do have the SSFB (Sheltered Southern Frat Boy) look to them now that I think about it.

Archie should've been shirtless in the pic, Peyton in a tap out shirt with his jeans tucked into his redwing workboots. Eli just full on camo.

don't forget the omnipresent LSU ball cap. Spot on description BTW. Nothing makes trashy people feel more uneasy than people who aren't. Usually elicits a response where the trashy ridicule the classy.

Or maybe some of us aren't from New Orleans and/or aren't Saints fans, and don't feel the need to worship at the Manning altar.

Went and watched Eli play back when he was at Newman. Archie was a super nice guy, was mingling and signing autographs up til kick off then he put his headphones and politely asked for space. Halftime, he signed autographs again until kickoff.

Classy guy, in my opinion.

I didn't like the way Eli handled his draft situation, but otherwise I believe they're a good family.

He also regurgitated the same rehearsed answer that he gave to Tracy Wolfson when Jim Nance asked him on the podium about retirement

that's because when interviewed by TW, the fans in the stadium did not hear the audio broadcast by CBS, only the listening audience on TV could hear.

When on stage during the trophy celebration, Nantz asked him .. "What did you tell TW down on the field" .... that's why he repeated verbatim

Hmmm, No. I don't know of very many families who have 3 NFL Quarterbacks with 4 Super Bowl Rings. So they are not typical.

Even if Eli was paying Super Bowl prices for those Buds it would not cause him to blink.

Not exactly true. Cooper used to flaunt his Rolex at Newman when he was in high school.

Eli walked the "entitlement road" as well. He does seem like he has matured from when I met him though.
People can change and he was young.

well good cause most people I know don't worship the Manning family either. I do admire people who dress well, support each other, conduct themselves civilly, and represent class in public. I think if you contrast that to the standard (Insert college name here) fan, you will find the Mannings set a pretty good example and don't deserve ridicule for it. As evidence, click on the Alexandria family fight thread available on this page and let me know which group you'd rather have for neighbors.

But, if you feel purple/gold crocs are formal foot wear, have at it.

Oh man...a kid showing off a watch at an elite school? Say it ain't so. Besides, who on the OT doesn't have a Rolex or TAG?

I can afford that but ASSURE you, my kid wouldn't be given one in high school.

Furthermore, my kids are taught to be humble even tough its not necessary.

Life lessons.

Well said and I agree. I don't recall anyone of them doing anything to warrant the hate other than being smart and very successful at the profession they choose.

And since I know many students, parents and teachers at Newman, I can assure Cooper is by far not the only student to wear a Rolex. And my neighbors son is a senior at Catholic and he wears one. A bit much but not out of the norm apparently. I'm wearing a $49 Timex.

It's the pride he lost not the $$

Maybe it also involves him pouring them into glasses in a skirt or something.

and this differs from the high school kid driving a $25,000+ pick up truck how? I know kids in Point Coupee driving brand new, just-purchased-from-Maggio-GMC Sierra 1500/2500 pick up trucks that cost >$30K. Are they flaunting their wealth? Are they too white?
Cause I can assure you no one will ever accuse anyone from PC of being too rich, too white, and certainly not too classy

So Archie is douchebag for buying his son a Rolex in high school?

So let's just say at the time Archie was worth $25M, and simultaneously you were worth $250k.

Then by your argument, Archie is a douchebag for buying his son a $10,000 Rolex then you would be just as much of a douchebag if you bought your son a $100 Fossil watch

I think you guys misread my post. I said "flaunt" not "wear".

As in told a friend of mine, "sure, but you don't have one of these".

I Like the Mannings. Like I said earlier - kids. That's all.

I just know if I heard my kid say that, he would get a busted arse quick.

That is all.

And how do you know he didn't get an arse whipping for that? Every possible action by their kids points in the direction that Archie and his wife raised some exemplary children in every way.
