You married your wife because you love her. Not to be a fricking breeding machine. Its her uterus, if she decides she doesn't want any more babies, then that's that.
If you're seriously considering divorcing your wife over this, then you should probably divorce her anyway, because clearly you don't care for her that much.

If she wants to quit after 1 kid and I love her, then we stop at 1.
Women actually HAVE the kid, so I think they should ultimately decide this.
If it's that big of a deal to you, let her know, and then give in or move on based on her decision.

Why is the divorce question bringing out the anger? What if one of the things he loved about his wife is that she wanted several kids and would be a great mom. Not saying I would do it, but it's a valid question. Kids are sort of a big deal to some people, and that feeling of being tricked or an important part of your expectations just being taken away would be tough.

or how about the reverse, I got married with the agreement that there would be no kids, the ex badgered the shite out of me after a couple of years, I relented, after a couple of more years, "he'll be lonely without a sibling," she gets knocked up, come to find out some of her cronies had told her that 10 years of marriage & 2 kids was the magic # for getting life time support, and she even told my sister that was the plan
