That would go in a business dumpster somewhere

If only someone had suggested letting it harden early on in the thread.

For one or two cans, perhaps I could look the other way. But not for the amount that I have to dispose of.
That's why I want the "legal" way as my only option.
Is there a second hand, re-purposing center in BR for Home Construction?
Look up The Green Project in NOLA. There may be something similar in BR (looks like probably not).
From their facebook.
The Green Project’s mission is to develop a culture of creative reuse by building a marketplace for reclaimed materials and cultivating a respect for their value. In carrying out this mission our warehouse store diverts an average of 6 tons of usable materials from landfills EACH DAY, keeps 40,000 gallons of paint from finding our marshes annually through the Gulf South region's ONLY paint recycling facility, and prevents green house gasses from being produced. In every effort we try to uphold the credo, "use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without". To that end we provide environmental education for schools, host monthly sustainability workshops and believe that with every choice we must consider how we can leave a lighter footprint in New Orleans and on our planet.

if you leave the lid open until they completely dry out, you can dispose of them in a garbage bin.
but, they have to be completely dry

You'll have to wait for a Household Hazadrous Materials Collection Day and drop it off there.
BTR offers one every six months or so.
ETA:
Ray gave you the info.

I spoke with Habitat for Humanity. They're closed today (the location that accepts paint). So I'll wait until tomorrow to donate it.

Box it up and bring it to a paint store. Tell them that they sold you some bad paint and you want your money back. Reach in all of your pockets and say you left the receipt in your car - you'll be right back. Haul arse.

if you have that much, sell it for $20 bucks on craigslist or state you have 30 gallons of free paint.
Trust me, frickers will come out of the woodworks for free shite,
even if you have some putrid color of mauve to share....

There are household waste disposal days...but I don't know when they are.
I think it's twice a year.
...and sadly - I work for LA DEQ

Just set them out in your driveway and let the rain wash them....

If I want to dispose of the paint in the trash, the person that answered the phone said that Home Depot sells a "powder" that will harden the paint and once hardened, it can then be disposed of in the trash.
Yeah, kitty litter. Didn't we already cover this?
