I dont really understand how this could cause human trafficking. It seems the exact opposite would be true. Every prostitute would have to be licensed and have a clean bill of health. Regular inspections at brothels would catch any traffickers. There would be less demand for illegal activity as you would be able to now go to a legal brothel. What am I missing?

Once again, a good regulatory scheme makes human trafficking unprofitable. Amsterdam doesn't work because they don't let people grow their own pot and therefore let the cartels run the drug and sex trade instead of regulating the cartels out of existence and letting locals beat them on price and quality.

Hell I think it would help marriages and lower the divorce rate.
Just think, currently if a married guy wants to get laid he has to befriend some girl on facebook, pretend that he loves her and is gonna leave his family for her. Then it ends up all blowing up and him getting divorced and ruining his kids lives and all that.
or he picks one up illegally, gets caught and pays a fine, gets divorced and potentially loses his job.

we already have traffic. seems like a minor issue in the big picture.
if its legal, health issues can be addressed. safety issues can be addressed for both the customer and the providers.
and legal adult prostitution will eliminate most minors in the "field".

The biggest problem is that it would encourage human trafficking.
And also, alcohol being legal encourages drinking and driving and alcoholism and those 2 things have been known to kill people and ruin a family or 2, and that doesn't stop us from keeping it legal, so I still don't buy the premise.
