Scenario: married lawyer gets pissed at his wife. She goes out without him. He finds her in a bar with friends/other people. He goes to said bar and punches her in the face, breaking her nose and chipping a tooth.

What’s going to happen to this dude?

I think the average age of the OT is about 38 now.

You probably have more junior partners than law students around here nowadays.

What's being a lawyer have to do with any of this? Are you under the impression that lawyers are immune to domestic violence laws?

He'll be charged with battery. Can potentially be disbarred for misconduct

He's going to say so long to half his stuff.

And if this lawyer is as stupid as he sounds he probably didn't get a pre-nup.

Stupid gonna stupid.

He would be suspended by the State Bar Assoc. in addition to regular criminal charges.

He probably stands to lose a good bit more than that. Half “his stuff” is likely hers regardless in a state like Louisiana. If he’s that much of a violent a-hole dumbfrick, woman is getting some decent restitution out of him on top of her community property share.

Also, I can’t imagine any pre-nup saying, you’re not entitled to anything of mine even if I beat the shite out of you.

Arrested on domestic violence charges, will get divorced, lose half his stuff, and have to pay tons of courts costs, bail and fines. Not to mention the professional repercussions.

If he broke her nose and chipped a tooth, good chance it'll be a 2nd deg. battery charge (felony). A broken nose easily fits the definition of extreme physical pain or protracted and obvious disfigurement
