frick their protocol. Do you think Lebron James was aware of the fact that he (as a lowly commoner ) wasn't allowed to touch them? We don't have royalty in the U.S., and most people aren't going to know this protocol unless they've been briefed on it. Brits should probably be more understanding, especially considering they were in the U.S. and it certainly appears that Lebron's heart was in the right place.

They pulled this same shite when Michelle Obama touched the Queen. I mean, how dare the wife of the President of United States put her filthy hands on the Queen?! I'm far from being Team Obama, but their reaction to that situation was pretty aggravating.

Meeting the Queen is a complicated thing. You have to curtsy, you can't extend a hand before she extends hers, you can't pick up food before she does, and you definitely, most certainly, never, ever are allowed to attempt to hug or kiss her. Which is why it caused quite the hilarious stir yesterday across the pond when Her Royal Highness half-embraced Michelle Obama. Nearly the entire nation simultaneously snarfed their English Breakfast. And then, the unthinkable happened: Michelle hugged her back.

Also, I can almost guarantee that more people on this planet recognize/revere LeBron James than those two.

So why are they touching him?

this is another example of an American being too touchy feely with British royalty.
I didn't know this was a thing... are Americans groping royal family members a lot?

DO NOT TOUCH THE ROYALS!!!!

How hard is that to understand?

If they reach out their hand, you can shake it.

Otherwise, bow!!!

It's called protocol, people.

How about you go back to your foggy, shite-hole island, chump?

I don't know, I kinda agree with them on this one. I'd be pissed too if she put her grubby hands on me. Any other first lady and they likely would have just mentioned that protocol had been broken in their snobbish brit way.

Is the British monarchy even relevant anymore?

Do they actually do anything to help better the world?

It is just weird that in a country that fought a bitter war to gain independence from Great Britain, you see Americans lose their minds over Kate Middleton and royal babies.

Kate and LeBron are both celebrities. They are equals and most Americans see it that way. I realize that their favorite pastime is to criticize Americans, but Brits should look in the mirror before they allow themselves to be offended by LeBron's lack of cultural sensitivity.

British royalty are mostly fashion or cultural icons to Americans. They are basically on the same level as Paris Hilton or that Beaver kid as far as Americans go.
