He sounds like an animal hoarder. That's a whole nother level of crazy. Proceed with caution.

People that don't hunt with dogs have no idea what they're talking about. These type dogs are aggressive towards different types of animals and cannot be left running loose. Next people will be bitching about those dogs killing fluffy!!!

My gf's family has 7-8 dogs for pheasant hunting. I've been dating her for two years and the only time I've ever seen them is when we hunt.
When they aren't hunting they are boarded near Wichita Falls at a friend's house and it's basically a big arse metal building with pens for each one. There's a feed trough and the guy who owns the place cleans the thing a few times a week and feeds them.
They aren't allowed to run and they don't leave the little area they are in.
I thought it was fricked up as well because I didn't grow up around working dogs, but they all looked at me like an idiot when I asked if they stay in there for 320 days a year.

a GSP is straight up not gonna be chill in a kennel for 24/7 without being run.
Truth. I have one. They are fricking nuts even when you do run them daily. No way would one be close to sain being in a kennel 24/7

I would say 99% of the people who would drive by my house when I had labs would think the same thing - those poor dogs are almost always stuck in that kennel.
Truth is they weren't I can't speak for the guy you are talking about, but there are 24 hours in a day and you are making a judgement on what? 10 minutes of it you see them?
My dogs have all been well trained, well conditioned hunting or field trial dogs. They did not get that way "locked up" all day. But with a kennel that is where the dogs belong in my opinion, not roaming loose or in the house.

Put the owner in a kennel 24/7, let him piss and shite on himself.

My sister has a large kennel where she keeps packs of hunting hounds. It has a septic system and the hounds are generally in two groups - male and female. THey live as they hunt - in a pack.
Of course, she takes the hounds out almost every day for training when they are not hunting.
