Doesn't mean they know what they're doing. We picked up a case recently that another attorney had and when reading through the file, I was shocked at how terrible the other lawyer was.

True, educated =/= experience. That's for sure.

Random side question, should I have wrapped my pipes tonight? In BR BTW

He's been practicing for 30 years. There's more than one way to skin a cat, but this dude was out of his league in this particular area of law.

And yeah, you should always wear a condom.

Well they're more educated anyway.

True, but some attorneys will take cases in an area that they are not very familiar and try to wing it. Some can get over just by talking like they know it. But if the adjuster on the other side knows it, attorney can be embarrassed. It's hard to specialize in the 4,5, or 6 fields of specialty. Some try unsuccessfully.

No idea who that is, but this dude had the case in a terrible posture. I've spent the better part of the past two weeks getting it in a more favorable position.

Cmon man, you've never seen Bull Durham?

Crash Davis spends his entire prof career in AAA, minus a 12 day stint in the show.

Booze, I've probably worked with plenty of the adjusters you work with, over the last 28 years, and judges, and defense attorneys. I could probably lend you some advise and vice versa. I need to get your email addy one day. Do y'all do any WC work?

Yeah, we've got a guy who does land-based comp exclusively. Started out on the defense side and made the switch about a decade ago. I'd imagine you've heard the name.

I do some Longshore work, and I'll dabble in some comp if there is a third party tort suit, but we send all of our exclusive comp to him.

You're gonna make a good career. I'm glad for you, boosie. Commitment pays off, you're proof. Like a pop, I'm proud of you.

Yeah, I think I'm in the right place. I like what I do. I'm lucky in that we're well-established enough that we don't have to take the questionable cases. I know something else is coming through the door because of the hard work my bosses have put in for 20+ years. It's a good place for a young guy to learn the practice.

And yeah, I'm usually a dipshit on the internet, but I like to think of myself as surprisingly normal in real life. Appreciate the kind words, though.

Yeah you should feel bad. Those poor billion dollar insurance companies are abused all the time.

I had a nice insurance company today that would not pay for a young girls cancer treatment at MD Anderson. They were hoping she would die but they scraped up 100k and paid for it themselves and she is still alive.

fricking ERISA plan so not a ton I can do, but they will pay before it is all over.
