Large project in Swamp Along I-10 between Laplace and Gramercy.

What is this project? Seem to be clearing and filling about 200 yard wide swath through the swamp. Looks to be larger than your typical powerline.

All a levee can do is redirect the flow of water. It doesn’t reduce the volume of water.
But maybe they can redirect it to a lesser populated area.

The second part of your comment is correct. The first is not. A levee can also CONCENTRATE flow of water. Go and study what has happened with the Atchafalaya and Mississippi Rivers as a result of the COE efforts over the years.
