Anyone own this car and what are your thoughts? Heard the problem SUVs were all before 2013. Taxes have me looking at buying one before the 31st since it's over 6k and mpg is below 22.5. Serious question on this not a troll.

Beautiful cars, like beautiful women, are high maintainence and an expensive hobby.

Thought they did away with that deduction

Biggest pieces of shite ever made. Still have problems. Every time I see one I think that bastard driving doesn't have a lick of sense.

65-75k. I've got to take advantage of the IRS tax benefit and depreciation almost makes this a no brainer. Over 4 years the government will effectively reduce my income taxes around 58k. But before I jump on this car I really wanted some feedback on maintenance.

I thought that was race horses.

I have an 01 landrover. It's a fun care and I enjoy it but man repairing it can be costly. I don't get good MPG either.

Nope tax benefit is still in full force and effect.

I have a 14. The V6 is adequate but far from thrilling. It's not even a real range rover, its a goddamn discovery. It's had random error messages since day one but nobody can seem to figure out why. It's nice but you can get a lot more bang for your 90 G's with the Porsche or Volvo.
Other than than little things it's been pretty reliable. However, the Volvo and the Porsche are better trucks.

Our tax code is so screwed up.
Posted on 12/19/15 at 9:52 pm to ihometiger
what's the deal with this tax break?

The Volvo is more comfortable in my opinion. Whoever designed the interior of the Volvo has their shite together. Don't get me wrong, the Range Rover sport is great but I wish I had opted for the full size range rover.
Drive the Porsche if you get the chance. The turbo version is something like 500hp and it's a rocket ship.
Toss the Audi Q7 TDI in the mix if you put a lot of miles on a vehicle. It's fantastic. I've never driven the supercharged version but I've heard it's pretty good. Being VAGCOM it's pretty reliable as well.

I look at Range Rovers the same way as BMW/Mercedes.
The initial purchase price is high and the overall cost of ownership can be very high due to expensive maintenance costs.

TaTa Motors is the name,
We make cars in India.
So we bought a British Company with a name,
Just to show we ain't like Mork and Mindua,
Cars we make sell real nice,
All trendy housewives pay the big price.
Trouble is, they made to run on rice.
But who cares, we get money from the bank, and payment for that is left a big stank.
TaTa Motors, selling Range a rivers for as long as we can!

Check your third brake light for moisture. It will throw off 4wd system.

They're all expensive to fix but Range Rover isn't even in the same stratosphere as BMW and Mercedes in terms of reliability though.
If you stay on top of your recomended maintenance (from the actual part manufacturers, not the dealership) the German cars will run like a dream. Range Rovers just aren't as well designed.
