Land in Chicago at 9am. Concert at 6ish. What in between?

Food and booze. That's what.
Been to Chicago a million times so I've seen the sights. But this time just interested in cool local bars with food. Will have time for 2-3 spots, probably. Looking for local with atmosphere.
Any recommendations? Show is at Park West.

Go to Richards, dive bar classic, at the corner of Milwaukee and Grand. It is an experience you will never forget. A mix of Mafia types and young hipsters. Just know what you want when you step to the bar. Tenders take no crap there. It's like stepping back in time. The Italian restaurant next door is very good as well.

Resi's Bier Stube, corner Irving Park and Lincoln--for lunch or dinner. I lived within stumbling distance of there, so I can recommend based on my own experience.
