I'm not sure anyone cares how you feel for him but he has had a really screwed up life. Mother died of cancer when he was young, dad was a heroin addict, he had a son die of sids and married and divorced a Kardashian in the constant eye of tmz. I could be wrong but I never had the feeling that he sought the fame the way others do.

Dude's net worth is 56 million. Goes to show money can't buy happiness. It's amazing how many of these 'celebrities' are absolutely miserable.
