I thought it was supposed to be at I12 and Millerville but then that went 6feet under (almost literally) about the time the beav had to make a decision.

That Millerville location would have been horrendous for traffic. It either needs to be in Livingston Parish or in WBR at the Lobdell exit.

This one.

DOTD being incompetent is kind of a given, but obstructing a business coming into the state because they weren’t kicking back enough or to the right people makes a lot more sense.

Robertsdale was the first one built outside TX, and if you compare that location setup to the ones they are building now, it's clear that they have learned some things.

They need to build / orient them differently when there is no one-way feeder road like there is in a lot of Texas.

I’ve also noticed a couple of newer Buc-ee’s with carwashes. There’s some I’ve been in that only have two entrance/exits to get in and out of the store.

Take the one in Baytown and wall off the doors to the right of the store when walking in from the I-10 side of the store. That’s an example of one of the newer and slightly smaller (seemingly) that I’ve seen.

Either way I’ve never seen a Buc-ee’s not busy at the pumps or in the store.

Obviously location and access is very key for them.

Id imagine either hednerson or like gonzales-ish would be good candidates.

Seems like Livingston/Satsuma at I-12 near Baton Rouge/Hammond or the Louisiana/I-10 exit in the Lafayette area would be ideal for one. And maybe even somewhere out towards Jennings or Crowley.

This is good news, but I’ll believe it when I see the dirt getting moved.
