It's all fun and games until it gets caught in the fan belts. My dad had that happen on his school bus in the mornings during the winter. They would get on top of the engine because it was warm

Years back a guy in my hometown had his 1 month old Ford Taurus totalled when his neighbors three pit bulls chased a stray cat under the car where it climbed up onto the engine. I didn't believe it until I saw the photos.

If it's older you might be able to get it out with smell but under about 6 weeks old your best bet is to scare it.

I wonder if opening the hood and spraying a water hose would work?

How did it get inside the engine?
Run it out of the car engine, it runs under the cutting deck of my mower. Run it out from under the cutting deck it goes back to the engine.
I have an 11 year old daughter involved so can't go hard.
Not how I had my night planned.

Had one get under the hood of a Chevy truck I used to have and didn't know it was there. The plastic fan blades beat it to death

Open the hood and use a Super Soaker on the cat. It will leave.
I've had to remove more than one dead cat from car engines. When they get into the habit of climbing in there, it's only a matter of time until someone gets in, starts the car and they get caught in the fan belt. You don't want your kid seeing that.

Call Alf. Not only will he get the kitten out, he'll cook it for you, too.
