Same here. Also you can get Amazon to refund you an additional $20 for the extra price drop in the last week... ended up paying $24 for my paperwhite.

How did you go about asking for that refund? I just picked up a paperwhite without special offers for $66 as a Mother's Day gift to my older sister two days ago.

These are just strictly readers right? No apps or anything?

Chat them up and tell 'em you saw it cheaper after you ordered.

I believe the current kindle models have a web browser and a picture-viewer. It's all black-and-white, though. You can also "highlight" and take notes. That's about where the function stops. No other apps.

It was a special offer email to (some?) prime members. Sw2scla posted that he got a similar email recently. I got one 1-3 days after he posted about it on here. If you're a prime member, I would recommend that you check your email- both recently received/deleted and for the next week or so.

ePub or PDF I think. Do these formats work on the Kindle? If not, any workarounds?

I do, actually. But I thought it would be funnier to post the third link from a Google search of "ePub kindle."

It's also simpler to use that site if you aren't mass-converting stuff.

I wish they would discount the Dx though. They never run specials on it.
