Seriously. They gave my wife one during the labor of our first child. It was a long labor and they wanted her to rest. She started hallucinating. It was freaky. She thought the pillow was trying to eat her and she screamed at me asking who I was.

My sister took one and it basically put her in a zombie state for a few hours. She was home helping look after our mother, who had been in the hospital, so there was a lot of stress. Her eyes were half closed, and she could answer questions, and walk with help, but other than that, like I said, a zombie. Took her to the ER and they kept her under observation for a while and admitted her overnight. Within a couple of hours it was beginning to wear off, and she was fine the next day.

I know someone who took one at the airport as they called for her flight to prepare to board. She wanted to sleep during the multi-hour trip.
Well, they announced a few minutes later that the flight was delayed. She had to fight it and stay awake for an hour or so.
That could make a good SNL skit.

Very individual results. Works well for me. I take it because I can NOT sleep like a normal person. Got to get up at 5 am for 7 am shift? Can't sleep at 10 watching the news.
Take one at 8:30. Could sleep by 9:15, but I'm stubborn. Stay up til 10.

I loved what Ambien did for me. Saw my grand piano levitate, Louis Armstrong came out of a print and floated across the ceiling in the living room, objects glided along table tops, pictures in frames glided up the wall, flowers in vases swayed. It was a great show and really entertaining. Haven't had any in almost 13 years. Want more.

It should help you sleep, but if you fight it to stay awake that's when the freaky stuff happens.
