I'll never understand these priorities. Live in a shack but buy $200 shoes every time they drop

I will never get why poor people will spend 20-50% of their yearly gross on shoes.

this is the reasoning. I was told this in 8th grade when my mother brought me to footlocker to buy new shoes. I wanted the new air max but knew my mom wouldn't buy them because they were stupid expensive. the sales guy (black) is trying to tell my mom why she should buy them. his exact quote was "the first thing someone sees when they meet you is your shoes"

this is a true story and I will never forget it

Many poor people today will spend money on clothing, tv's and autos before they'll spend a penny on health, housing, food etc. In part because they've been conditioned to allow the taxpayers to foot the bill on those items

They do it to look like they have money. The irony is that they spend so much on pretending to have money, they don't have money
