7 hours of excruciating, scream-out-loud pain.

However, I would wish them on my worst enemy, as they are not life-threatening in most cases.

Drink a lot of water and beer. Take pain meds and Flomax. About all you can do

I have a friend who had a "prostate stone !" Who knew?I've had two kidney stones and wanted to die the first time. I work in the medical field and have been told more than once, its worse pain than having a baby. Its treated as a medical emergency in the E.R. You go to the front of the line. Not above a heart attack or GSW, but you normally get a stretcher pretty quick.

Multiple women have told me it's worse too. Only time I didn't get taken first was because an older man was having chest pains and trouble breathing.

I had them a few years ago. I had the lithotripsy procedure done and pissed those Satan crumbs out.

Went through this about 2 weeks ago and it was beyond suck. The really shitty part is there are nine more scattered in both kidneys that will be moving out at some point.

I was night flighted off a rig for one back in the 90's when I was working offshore. Thought I was going to die. Twelve years later I had another one and did the lithotripsy twice. They are definately a miserable experience.

Does it just hit you all the sudden?

Where is the pain?

It feels like a valve is shut off to your kidneys, and you don't know this until that flow is stopped. Then the pressure starts to mount. It gets excruciating. You'll start shredding clothes, it's one less restrictive thing on your body.

last time I tried to drink water it came right back up. my body was being squeezed out like a wrung sponge.

Dealing with them now. I had lithotripsy last Wednesday and I'm still pissing those things out. I have a scan and follow up appointment next Friday. I'm praying that they completely broke it up and I don't have to go through all of this again in couple more weeks.

I've had several. A couple so bad I could not straighten out. For some reason, I haven't had one in about 8 years now. I know only a couple people in this world that I would wish them on and that's only because killing them would land me in jail.

On the positive side, I experience 3 within a few months of each other and the Dr decided I should have some pain meds on hand if another struck. Yep, that was a nice guy!

I've had several over the last 10 years. I've had to have surgery twice.

Last one I had was hell for about 2 weeks (off and on again pain) till it passed.

Drink lots of beer/wine, sit in a bathtub or hot tub full of hot water. Take pain mess if you have any around the house. If it gets so bad you blackout then get to the ER.

Got my first one on a business trip 2 years ago. Worst situation ever. Couldn't lay down, couldn't stand, had to cancel on my meetings and drive myself to the nearest Urgent Care on my own.

The day I finally passed the stone, I celebrated like I had just won the Super Bowl.

Had them three times--

Most recently I had to have a stint put in to take one out it was so damn big--Doctor said it was the size of a nickel.

Three times in the operating room--
Week one put the stint in
Week two break the stone and take it out
Week three take the stint out

I have never been in that kind of pain. I had to piss a blood clot after all three surgeries and all three times I damn near fell to my knees the pain was so bad.

My doc told me no more pork or red meat and drink 3 liters of water a day. Any of you chronic sufferers change your diet?

Yeah I've had a stint put in twice.

Nurse grabs the end of your pecker and opens up the hole, the doctor put a syringe (no needle) in the end and shots lidocaine up your pecker, the he sticks a microscope with grabbers attached up your pecker and into your bladder, grabs the strings attached to the stint, and pulls it out your pecker.

Not really painful you just feel pressure as it into comes out then you have to go to the bathroom and pee until no blood. It's stings like a millions ants are up your pecker biting, but after that feeling you rejoice and drink a beer. Then pee some more

I'be been told that taking a magnesium supplement helps reduce the risk for those who are prone to them.
