The increased criminalization of school based behaviors has definitely gone overboard. Kid should be expelled, though, and face all associated consequences that come with that.

Anyone who sees this video and thinks that the kid should register as a sex offender has forgotten what it was like to be in High School, i.e. silly as hell with complete ignorance of how your actions can permanently change your life, and/or has no idea the stigma associated with that label.
The kids did a silly prank. Regardless of whether you think its funny, having to register the same way as a rapist, child molester (or one that urinates in public, jeez) is completely out of proportion.
Folks that think this way are part of the reason we have such ridiculous criminal laws in this state. Politicians pander to them to make sure they are seen as "TOUGH" on crime in order to be reelected, but thats a completely different debate I dont feel like having.

kid deserves to maybe have to go do some summer classes to graduate and not be allowed to finish and graduate same time as his buds, but he doesn't deserve to register as a sex offender
