why are you surprised? Sex means a lot of different things to different people from being causal fun to a religious experience. For some people, casual hookups just dont work for some people.
I had a roommate who was a 28 YO virgin. Dude was super popular, had a ton of friends and chicks would have tricked him if he ever pursued them. He never did though because he was saving himself for the girl of his dreams who was engaged to someone else. He said if he never got laid, then so be it. He changed around 30 I think because after a quick FB search, he's dating a cute chick.
