I know the "significance" of a field....DURING football season.
And yes, they can stop you. Liability. Many schools today don't even have playgrounds/swings, etc. Too many law suits. Shitty but it is what it is.

If you really want to feel a big "frick you" to your taxes, try to go visit your alma matter during lunch and see if the school allows you to visit your old teachers.
I feel like if you weren't a complete a-hole as a student, they'd probably give you a visitor badge and let you on your way.

False!
You most definitely have right to call and ask when the public is allowed to use the track. However. The football field may not be accessible if it's under treatment.

Guess I thought school grounds were open for local residents.

Stay off the fricking field!
Usually they don't mind you horsing around on the practice field but, they might...

Haha. Clarify. They most certainly have to provide public access to the track and a field (maybe not the football field if it's being fertilized, planted, etc). This is true in EBR and AP for certain.
Zachary, Dutchtown, EA, Woodlawn, BRHS all have public access times.

No. You left because he told you to. It's ok dude. You don't have to act like a badass. We all do what the man with a gun and badge tell us to when he's in our presence.

I think we should have access to the facilities (agree thought not all fields), but tracks etc should be more accessible, but they are not.
Luckily we were able to work something out at a local public high school so they let use it sometimes, but we did all have to sign a waiver. I think liability is a big fear.

The police officer was pretty pissed when he approached me and a young lady sliding down the school playground slide. It was 2 AM and we were ripping on X so I can see where he was coming from.

BRHS does not have public access times. All gates are supposed to be locked unless there is an event. If you attempt to use athletic grounds with out permission, you will be asked to leave.
Some groups do get permission to use the grounds or gym, but they have to pay for expenses incured and show proof liability insurance.

Not big-timing anybody. But would have probably talked to him more about why he was there if my kiddos weren't there.

They try to keep the pedophiles from planting bombs on the campus during the off hours. Security is a 24/7 job.
Thanks Obama.

I can't speak of all teachers, but I don't want former students visiting me during school hours. I am working, if they want to visit they can come when school is over for the day
