Why would you pass a cop on the interstate. That's just asking for it. Stop breaking the law

You never pass a cop in that situation. Just keep slowing down with them.

Go get a lawyer pay him $500 to get the ticket taken care of. It will save you money in the long run.

Not gonna lie, I didn’t know this. Mr. dumb arse checking in here.

But I’m not dumb enough to run up on a cop in the left lane, then pass him when he moves right. I’ve literally never seen someone do this. WTH?

so, the "wouldn't I run into him" line doesn't work.

That and why would you not slow down at that point. Hell, frick with the man and keep slowing down so he can't get behind you.
Also, it sounds like he was also speeding at 87 mph. Why would you follow close enough to allow this situation? Why not let him get ahead a good bit? Just seems like no matter how I analyze this, you're a dumbass.

He gave you a ticket for speeding. You were going 87. What’s the problem?
because 15 and under the limit is regular fine, 15+ is double the regular fine

they routinely lie and make it 15+ so they can steal more of your money, it is a big deal

that said your word means nothing and the cop can lie all he wants, the judge always believes the cops version, not yours

Georgia State Patrol cars have radar in both front and back. Most of the county cars in our area do as well.

Your parents should ground you and take away your keys for a few weeks!..Future reference....don't pass the police cars when driving on the interstates if you're driving over the speed limit...

I would advise you against taking information from a website that sells radar detectors and spouting off in court to make yourself look like a bigger idiot than you might be. Just friendly advice though.

The issue at hand, friend, is how accurate is the radar the vehicle is equipped with when moving.

As stated before, it’s a word problem in every calculus, because it is, frankly, calculus.

Challenging the radars calibration is a common practice.

Also, you sound like a cop.

You could have just told the cop that your cars cruise control is set to maximize your MPG’s and speeds up on it’s on. There’s some OT math behind how this work.

Were you doing 87? You didn't post a speed you were going, so I assume you were doing 87.

Cop was moving, probably just paced him according to his own speed.

OP did something the cop didn't like.

Jesus Christ I’m sorry man. I want these literal highway robbers off the road.

I say fight it, to everyone. The system is built upon the assumption that 95%+ will just pay the ticket. If everyone goes to court it collapses.

frick the blue.

I imagine it's fairly accurate if it knows the speed of the cop's car. That's a pretty simple equation.

We’re you going over the speed limit? It’s called a limit, not a suggestion. If not, you’re right. If so, case closed.
