My boss is fighting upper management for more time by saying I can't get out of my lease(rental house). He said they may want to see my lease but I don't have one and I pay the rent in cash. I could be out as soon as next week if I can't prove I'm still living in my house. Frick the oilfield.

FYI... I don't drive a truck nor do I have a Yeti.

Sorry to hear that man. Hope it works out. How large is the lay off? How long have you worked there for? Any chance at severance?

Good luck.

When we have layoffs we don't give a warning or severance package. You literally find out and have to pack up your shite and get escorted out.

Upper management and your boss don't give a shite about your lease. Your boss is lying to you.

Look at it as a positive. Apparently you are meant to do better things.

This is a small layoff as I've already made it through about 5 rounds of layoffs. I've just completed my 5th year and no chance at severance.

sorry to hear that.

went thru this in february and there were some dark times, but they get better.

stay strong and keep a positive mindset...tough to do in times like this but that's all i can tell you.

Well, if you and the landlord have already agreed to terms, then just have them memorialized and then send it to your employer.

I'm sorry about you losing your job.

Very philosophical but not the most practical of advice.

Hang in there, OP. And start your search right now.

Sorry to hear that man. My office just closed as well, fortunately I get to keep my job... if I move 3 hours away.

Vote for Trump, he will turn the spigot on with respect to oil and he will dig to China harvesting coal from the earth.
