U.S. District Court Judge Helen Ginger Berrigan has grant a delay in sentencing for former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin.
Nagin, who was convicted in February on 20 counts including bribery, fraud, money laundering and conspiracy, was scheduled to be sentenced on June 11. The date has been pushed back to July 2.
On Tuesday, Berrigan issued an order that Nagin forfeit more than $501,000 as a result of his conviction on bribery and other charges.

There seems to be a witch hunt element to the Ray Nagin case, and I'm no apologist for corrupt government officials.

I'm thinking Mr. Obama will pardon him by the time his tenure is done in 2016.

The government opposed delaying Nagin's sentencing, but Judge Berrigan granted delay with no explanation.

Why do they wait so long for sentencing....he should have been sentenced at minimum a week after the trial.
