Joanna is just a naturally beautiful woman. She has amazing skin for a woman her age. She clearly still adores her goofy husband and seems like a very caring mother to her children. If you notice on the show.....you never see her flustered at all. She just exudes a graceful calm about her. She is a Christian and has been very upfront about her beliefs as well.....which makes me respect her even more. She seems like the type of woman any man would love to marry....and any other woman would love to befriend.
Her and Christina have very different design styles. But keep in mind where both live. Both know what the clients in their geographic region want.....and they design according to that.

It's that and what they both do. They're in very different businesses. The flippers have zero emotions going in to what they're doing. The Gaines' are in the business of building homes and dealing with clients on a much more personal level. If the two idiots from the flipping show were in that business they'd be broke. They have almost zero people skills and have no idea how to stay within a budget.
