It's time for the Jeopardy Online tryouts. I figure with the OT intellectuals we have here, that some of y'all would be interested in trying out. (They start tonight and end Thursday night.)

I made it to the in-person tryouts once in college, but I haven't been invited back since then. Anyone know someone who was on Jeopardy?

Is there a certain time to do it or do you just go to the website and take the test when you want?

Figured I'd give it a shot this year

LucasP,

Didn't you make it pretty far last year? And you started the thread on this last year too, right?

Don't encourage that kind of laziness. If he's too lazy to Google it, then he has no business trying out for the show.

Same here. It is amazing how much harder it gets when you are actually in person.

My cousin made it on.

Is this an instance when it would be worthwhile to pull an "Elizabeth Warren" and say that you're of "Native American" heritage? I'd assume Jeopardy! would be very aggressively pro-quota.

My brother (who is a member here but rarely posts) was on last year. He's 45 and has been trying to get on since college. He was leading into final jeopardy but missed the question. It was a pretty cool experience.

I think he went to St. Louis to tryout.

This year there is an option to add a photo to your registration. I did it, but later thought about this exact thing hurting me because I'm a 30 yo white male.

I've taken the test each of the last six years. I've gotten as many as 40 correct, but never gotten the audition invite.

My high school chemistry teacher won his in person audition (back in the late 80s or early 90s). However, he was excluded because the producers didn't like his attitude. Apparently, he answered a question wrong and another contestant started laughing at him. My teacher threatened to kick his arse in the middle of the tryouts.

I made it to the in-person tryouts as well. Never got the call. Oh well. I will probably give it a go this year as well.
