Any opinions on these? Have seen several under $25k with less than 50k miles (v6 4x4). Have read they do not have decent fuel economy and the 9 speed transmissions can cause issues. Looking at these and Ford Explorers...

Nothing in NC would be considered high altitude. The highest point in the state is still lower than the Colorado town I live in. If you are really concerned, get something with a turbo.

I'm more concerned about what I've read regarding the transmission potentially having issues.

I’m not sure either one of you speak English as your native language.

I'm not a big car guy and have always had Explorer V8 4x4s. But yeah I don't need it for high altitudes, I'm literally looking at the Model "Cherokee High Altitude" lol. If that's where the confusion lies.

I have a 2019 Cherokee. Bought it new when I was going through my divorce. So far no issues. Only problem I had was the battery just died out of nowhere.

4 runner isn't within the budget otherwise it would be an option.

I agree with this but I’m American all the way for my trucks. I would get a Lexus or Toyota sedan though

Take a look at the TSB tech service bulletins that has been issued on all dodge jeep and chrysler products about rust/corroison.

its a big issue with them. and they don't want to fix it even though its there problem.

I have the 8spd no issues as for the 9spd i have no idea.
