She can apologize all she wants. That doesn’t change the fact she’s despicable and a traitor.

Funny how 50 years later the same kind of people are desperate for us to go fight in Ukraine.

Yep.

I guess they liked the old Soviet Union fighting in Vietnam better than they like current Russia fighting in Ukraine.

If you’re going to label a fact-checking site as “fake news,” you need to be able to provide your own facts. I havnt seen that from you (and I doubt I will).

ETA. Just look at the people in this thread who believe the OP fully without doing a shred of research. You would call those “sheep”

So your dad is more upset over a woman trying to make peace than the Government that forced him to kill people?

I get your sentiment but boy did she ever pick the wrong venue to voice her protest, and that's a huge over simplification

she admitted she was wrong years ago. a lot of people do stupid things when they are young. exactly what else should she do to atone for her stupidity. the vietnam war was a travesty and elicited supercharged feelings from millions of americans, many which were model citizens. i agree with the feelings of those that served but it's past time to let it go.

Inexcusable.

And whomever defends this shite can frick right off, yourself included.

What I always find amusing about Fonda defending types is that Fonda contributed to the suffering of kids who mostly had no choice about being over there fighting. She insulted them, called them out and betrayed them to the enemy that was chosen for them by the US government.

Yet these same shithead leftists don't have the mental courage to take that fight to DC. They champion what Fonda did while screaming bloody murder about a few lamebrains LARPing around the Capitol on January 6. They can only attack those too small to fight back. They're cowards. Fonda was and is a coward. I've seen her "apologies". They aren't much of that.

Barbara Walters said: Thank you all. Many died in Vietnam for our freedoms. I did not like Jane Fonda then and I don't like her now. She can lead her present life the way she wants and perhaps SHE can forget the past, but we DO NOT have to stand by without comment and see her "honored" as a "Woman of the Century."

Good for Barb Walters

No he hates LBJ just as much, if not more than Fonda
Anytime someone mentions Fonda: “that commie bitch”
Anytime someone mentions LBJ: “I’d piss on that man’s grave”

I’m guessing your dad is not aware that his facts are incorrect.

She may not have given over the names to the enemy, but there’s indisputable photographic evidence of her commiserating with the enemy.

She not only didn’t do that, she took letters from the POW’s and brought them back to their families. Your dad just isn’t off, he’s way off.

As far as the photo, she’s not the first dumb actress to unknowingly take a photo under the direction of other people. Bad move on her part, but certainly not treason.

I’m not shocked though. People believe what they want to believe regardless of the facts.

she got on the radio 10 times over there denouncing her country, the US military people over there doing their jobs, and repeated ridiculous propaganda statements as to the targets of US bombing(which she had no clue,) and vomited out the lie that our US POWs were not being tortured or mistreated in any way
