More likely a dick to the judge. Likely argued he had a seatbelt on and it escalated to contempt of court.

I was in court recently asking for traffic school on a speeding ticket. It's amazing how many people not only argue with cops and the judge about their tickets, but also choose jail over $100-200 in fines.

I think I saw 30 people argue their tickets and they went 0-30.
