A surefire way to render an otherwise powerful word completely meaningless is to use it over and over again in situations where it is absolutely not applicable.
For example, using 'Nazis' when griping about getting a parking ticket.
'Racist' has been cheapened to the point of near absurdity.

75% are "message board" racist for sure. Not in a hang em from the trees and burn some crosses type of way, but enough to make some statements they'd never make in mixed company. But at the same time, I don't think all of them deeply hate other races or let those generalizations allow the to discriminate in real life.
