This has zero bearing on my life. I don't see why people get so bent out of shape when someone else lives how they want to live. If it doesn't directly harm me or anyone else, then you do you.

Snowflakes come in all shapes. Even conservative ones like the OP.

So the dad and mom split custody? How is that any different than any other custody agreement? The fact that his ex is the baby mom's gf is irrelevant right? What am I missing.

Because in a normal split custody arrangement, the custody is split between the kid's father and mother. The parent's girlfriend or boyfriend doesn't get custodial rights. In this case, the judge actually awarded custodial rights to the non-birth mom/ex-wife/mom's lesbian girlfriend. So now if the lesbians split up, both women plus the dad have split custody 3 ways.

So what happens is, husband and wife can't have a kid. Mom becomes friends with a woman in their apartment building. They all get pretty close together and husband and friend end up having a kid. Well, they all decide they're in love and become a polyamorous family. That is, until the women decide they don't want the man around anymore. Husband and wife divorce. Child's mom and ex wife stay together as lesbos. Judge grants joint custody between Dad and the two moms.

What's the issue here?

Lots of studies show that its not good. Kid only gets one side of the spectrum. Decision making ability is influenced negatively

Post five actual (peer-reviewed) studies.

I just wonder how it'll affect the kid's perception of relationships as he gets older. After all, his real mom was his dad's side piece while he was married...and now the side piece and ex-wife are a lesbian couple.

And also, what if the lesbians ever split up? Kids with divorced parents don't always do well going back and forth between 2 separate households...but this kid would be going back and forth between 3 different homes.

So 1/3 of the custody is given to each parent essentially giving the moms 2/3 custody?

Article says

quote:

The case went to trial after the biological parents agreed to joint custody, but Mr Marano opposed his ex-wife's custody bid. Dawn Marano had filed a suit asking for rights for the boy because she is not a legal or biological parent to her son. The woman said she did not want to have consent from the real parents to see the child.

quote:

Leis granted Dawn Marano Wednesday nights with the 10-year-old. She was also given one week of vacation during the school year and two weeks in the summer, while Garcia has residential custody.

Bub if my wife turns gay and leaves me for another woman...I'm certain that I can afford and find a good enough lawyer in this great state of LA (not NY liberals might be different) to get at very least majority custody of my daughter.

Maybe if you live in a swamp somewhere that the local judge got his law degree from the University of American Samoa, but I think you'd be surprised in basically any town with 20,000 plus residents. They're not going to give any more of a shite than if the wife left for another man.
