Haven't read all this thread but grew up in Texas graduated from LSU in 01 and lived in Eastern England since 2004, and I'll never live in the US again - people actually leave you the frick alone here - which is awesome.

I've lived in Norfolk for 10 years and can honestly say I've never had a run in with an unpleasant foriegner...in fact to be honest in Norwich - it's pretty rare to run into any immigrants, apart from seasonal polish farm workers, who've all seemed generally pleasant. And have never been anywhere in Norwich population 200K ish where I've felt unsafe at any time of day or night. The same can't be said for Beaumont or Baton Rouge. Maybe I'm just lucky I live in a seldom travelled part of England.

In reality the only way we possibly become like Europe is to let the duma$$ protestant fundamentalists run things. We'll make sure we bring in more European immigrants (muslim), tear down what separation of church and state we have, and keep those brown (and always distrusted) Catholics from south of the border out.

My wife and I spent new years in Paris a few years ago. They thought it would be a great idea to make the metro free for the night. An EPIC fricking brawl broke out at one of the stations we were at when a muslim dude punched a white guy's girl in the face when she wouldn't let him on the train (the trains were CRAMMED.) There were about 30-40 people involved in this fight.
I jumped on top of my wife and shielded her from shite being thrown and punches. Easily the scariest moment of my life. They don't give a frick who you are and are the biggest cowards I've ever seen. They ONLY fight in packs.

If and when the Muslims carry out an attack even worse than 9/11, then any American with brains and balls will know what we have to do to confront it, and the fact that there are so many Muslims in our European allies scares the frick out of me. We know we will have to invade Saudi Arabia and Pakistan since that's where terrorism is ultimately bred and raised, but when we have a leader ballsy enough to invade them, then Europe will be a powder keg, and that scares me more than anything in the Middle East itself.
