Green Verde was awesome. They had a cucumber lemonade drink that was amazing.

It does say they have a private beach area roped off from public beach with their own bar

What are you guys using to rent the places you're staying? Flying into Cancun?

VRBO.com

Direct flight from Dulles to Cancun. We leave Dulles at 8 AM and will be on Isla Mujeres at 1 PM.

Did you use Dollars or Pesos? Someone had previously mentioned you get better bang for your money if you use pesos....

Just booked a little get away for me and the wife. Thanks for the info!!!

that was me. When you get off the ferry at Isla Mujeres there's a little place right across the street that converts it for you. I carried both but the pesos on the island were the easiest to work with.

I don't go to Mexico anymore but I travel a lot.

I always get native cash through my bank before I leave.

I would imagine either will do, but Pesos are probably better.

Thanks! I think the exchange rate is now around 19 to 1... We are super excited!

Norway is on the list, Sweden was there too until 2015. Hopefully they'll deport the amount of POS that they publicized.

Thanks for the pics and the information.

We took a long weekend trip to Cancun in 2014. Spent two days at the JW Marriott in the Hotel Zone, and then one day on Isla Mujeres and one day in Playa del Carmen. The two days outside of Cancun were by far our favorite.

but i'm afraid it is going to end up just like Playa del Carmen within 10 years....another overhyped tourist trap

I went there in '94, '96 and '98 and thought the same, but apparently it hasn't.

Yes the dollar is VERY strong right now with Pesos.

Also be sure your golf cart is gas-powered, as we encountered a few folks who rented a battery cart and it died.
