Is your Direct TV remote dragging and slow response?

If you have this problem you can call Direct. Your main receiver needs to be replaced with an updated one. We did this and our jenies and main response is very fast now.
Posting this because Direct knows who needs them but are waiting on your call because they do not want to eat the cost of doing it all at one time....Hope this helps and Geaux Tigers.

Ours was running slow the other day but seems to be working fine since then. I'll keep an eye on it and call them if it starts doing it again. Thanks for the heads up.

yep we lost them but hell we are getting them back slowly and with Apple TV we can get about anything...

Mines been like this for months


I asked for a replacement and they sent me a refurb of the same model I already had so the response isn't any better

None of the buttons on the left side of my remote work. I think they have a poor design that causes this. It's either that or the fact that my kids spike it harder than Ickey Woods.

How long does it take them to get you the new one? I may force a family binge watch, but I need to know if I should go ahead and call before or after.

Oddly enough, it worked absolutely great and then at almost the exact moment they added "an AT&T Company" to the display it started to suck.

I had a couple of bad buttons on mine. Ordered a new one through Amazon. $6.50 total delivered in two days with prime.

Press and hold the mute button and select button at same time. Wait for light at top of remote to blink 2 times. Then press 9 6 3 and channel down button. Light will blink 3 times indicating you have turned off extra status codes sent from the remote to the receiver. Should improve remote response.

I reset my receiver and the remote response speed was good to go after that.

My DirecTv box is 13'' x 10'' and I have never had that problem. I've seen much smaller boxes, maybe the problem lies with the smaller ones.
