Is there anything more ridiculous than the "RIP" facebook post?

Someone a bunch of people on my timeline knew died and here come the "RIP" and "We hardly knew ye" posts. What's the point? Dead people don't read facebook. Stop it. No one is impressed that you knew someone that died. It's like they all race to be a part of some weird club.

People grieve in different ways and this is probably part of the letting go process. What's wrong with that?

Of all the dumb shite people say on Facebook, you choose to criticize people who are upset over someone's death?

What a dick

I just don't like it when people make the self aggrandizing facebook post mourning the dead but really drawing attention to themselves in a long story or something. Idk, someone here said people grieve in certain ways but that bugs me. Kind of like people who ask for people to pray for them because they lost someone.

Guess I am an arse.

And here you are fretting over people's social media posts on a social media.

You are free to live your own life as they are. Do it.

I've lost so much respect for people on facebook because of stuff like this. People exploiting their sick kids, dead friends and family members for attention. It's pathetic.

I give a lot of leniency to peoples behavior in times of losing a friend.

When a friend of mine tragically died though, one dude used it as an opportunity to attention hor on Facebook constantly. That is disrespectful IMO. It should be about them, not some conjured up emotion so people feel bad for you.

You sound like an a-hole. Gid forbid someone mourns their friend.
