Is there anyone dumber than people that get suckered into timeshares?

I mean, I know there are less smart people but the disparity between where they think they mentally are and where they actually are has to be the greatest in this group.

So, which property did you get suckered into?
Posted on 6/18/15 at 4:48 pm to poochie
yes.. people who dont take the opportunity of timeshares

For consideration, I'd like to offer up the people who get sucked into latest/greatest pyramid schemes and will defend the scheme til death.

Sounds like you are. All time shares are not bad deal. There are good ones and bad ones. You are making a ridiculous over generalization. That's like saying "Is there anyone dumber than people that get suckered into hotels?"

No, but the vast majority of them are. And that's even ones from so-called "reputable" companies like Marriott and Hilton. The tactics they force their sales staff are unbelievable. I made the mistake of sitting through a presentation in Vegas once and here are my observations:
1) The hidden fees are everywhere. The small print will blow your bank account up.
2) The "two hour presentation" is never, ever only two hours.
3) The sales people are complete dicks and bullies. I saw three guys literally surround an older couple and bark at them like a drill sergeant. The lady literally looked scared.
4) The sales staff will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign up. I know a guy that spends almost $2800 a year in cleaning fees, association fees, membership dues, etc., to spend a week in a modest 2 BR condo in Vegas. That's $400 a night and he doesn't get to own shite.

I had my wedding in the Domincan REpublic at a nice resort. They offered essentially a timeshare (Vacation Club).
We warned everyone in advance about this and to just tell them no.
My sister and her husband got suckered in. I BEGGED her not to do it. I told her we would set up a money market account they could put money into for vacations, we would plan their trips for them and get them better deals, etc etc etc.
She said no and went with it.
3 years later, still paying on that bullshite, baby on the way, never used a single time.
Idiots.

Must have been in mexico or somewhere and got grabbed by the timeshare sharks and suckered in to a presentation for half the day for some free gifts for his time. Then told how great the this one day one time offer is and bought into it.

Was in Vegas and went to a "Time Share" confrence... Just to get a free dinner... Guy offered 18% interest.. I laughed at him and asked if Vinny was the financial provider... He then told me he could help me out and get it down to 16%...
It was a pretty decent free dinner...

Oh they wined and dined the shite out of my sister. Lobster, etc etc.
I offered her $100 dollars to not sign and she still did.
She told me the other day what an idiot she was.

My wife was ready to sign the papers until I told her she was nuts... After she came back down from the Rah-Rah cession, reality set in and she actually said I was right...

The Iraqi dinar scam is worse than the timeshare I think.
Posted on 6/18/15 at 5:16 pm to poochie
The game has changed, bruh. You can have a timeshare in different locations now. They're not all that bad.
