What is Malort? And under what circumstances would one find themselves drinking it?

I read somewhere that of all the liquors, vodka is the easiest for the body to process and gin is the hardest. Which means worse hangovers with gin. But it is awesome!

My usual go to bourbon is Knob Creek but I have tried them all from cheap to all of the Pappys. I have never gotten into scotch because it's just gross to me and I have tried a lot of kinds, cheap and expensive, but none recently. Maybe I'll try it again but just thinking of it makes me wanna gag.

I find that the higher end single malts are more to be more like bourbon than the blends.

quote:

Each person's individual absorption of alcohol occurs at the same rate regardless of the spirit. A molecule of Ethyl Alcohol is the same regardless of its source. What might change the intoxication is the potency of each ounce of the various alcoholic drinks. Beer is more dilute that wine which is more dilute than liquor. The other issue involves congeners and how they add to hangovers and how one feels as they are imbibing.

I can drink Vodka or drinks with vodka in it all night and barely feel a buzz. Tequila and I get folded if I'm not careful.

I'll take vodka or rum over gin any day but as a mixer gin does lose most of its medicine-ey taste. I don't really care for tequila. Malt liquor beer is pretty vile.

My tastes do change over time, though. I never loved Scotch until I was almost forty.

I'm not a huge fan of scotch or rum either.

If you've ever drank too much of it, you'll never touch it again. Tastes like hand-sanitizer and impending vomit from the moment I taste it

Vodka feels different than other liquors, imo. With bourbon, you feel drunk throughout your entire body. With vodka, it's almost like only your head is drunk. Can't describe it all that well, but vodka hangovers are certainly more manageable than others
