Then I bought a F250 for $27k and proceeded to spend another $30k fixing it over the four years I owned it (3 of which were sitting in a shop). Wish I could take that one back
Easy on the hyperbole son, at least make it sound a little more realistic next time.

Hammertime likes to think his story is representative of Ford trucks. Even if his story is legit, he bought a used truck that was likely fricked by the previous owner. His experience is nowhere near the representative one.

No joke. My 99 SuperDuty PowerStroke has been pulling a giant 5th wheel or hauling a giant truck camper its entire life, mostly in mountains. Nothing but basic maintenance, and not even much of that.

Plastic bed liners.

No... The entire inner bed, structure and all, on the 2nd generation Tacomas is plastic. (I think it's just the inner bed/structure. I don't think the outer panels were plastic also.

The second generation Tacomas were assembled in Tijuana, Mexico and Fremont, California while the plastic/composite beds were all built in Mexico.

I have a 4x4 four door and I love it. Best truck I've ever had.
