Is the 'Dark Continent' the only continent with a nickname?

'Dark Continent' was used by Europeans in the 19th century referring to Africa as unknown and mysterious. Some say it's still used because of satellite imagery shows a dearth of electricity throughout the nights. Or even in geological terms with the canopy blocking out th light, although jungle only makes up only 20% of the continent.

Wouldn't being dark and mysterious explain why Europeans would have no idea the country isn't a jungle? It's not like they had many relatives in Africa or text books to read about the place
