A new set of spark plugs and my CEL is a thing of the past. Hopefully it stays off.

Trashy to drive around with your CEL light on? Anyone?

Should have taken the old lady's advice and not bought an ugly truck.

Never seen one on, but let me ask my chauffeur to be sure. We just ordered a new fleet of S600's.

Hit a large bump in my truck 7 years ago and check engine light and ABS lights have been on ever since.

That's a question you should ask your husband.

More trashy to post about your CEL status on a message board.

Sure is. My mechanic said to roll with it. Been like that for a year or two.

365,000 miles on one. Dashboard looks like a dragstrip christmas tree.

2002 Chevy z71. 277 K miles. It's been on at least 10 years. Every time I drive in hard rain truck misses real bad and light blinks. Keep sayIng I'm gonna figure out what it is but then I doesn't rain and I don't think about it. My wife convinced me to drive thru a carwash a few years ago. I didn't think I was gonna make it out. Lol

yep...been on for several years. I got a message that my gas cap was bad, so I replaced it. The light never went off and I am not spending any more effort on it.

When, or if, it comes on....I plug in my OBD scan tool and figure out the problem and fix it the next weekend.

Same thing most men who were raised before 1990 do.

You can reset your on board computer by unfastening the positive and negative battery terminals, touching them together and connecting back..

It takes all of about 2 minutes.

Who owns a car long enough to let the check engine light come on?

Maybe, but what caused the light to come on in the first place?

O2 sensor on mine. Too lazy to get it replace. It'll either clear itself on a few tanks of gas or I'll clear with the odb monitor.

On my old truck, the airbag light is on. Some sensor that costs somewhere around $300. Not going to mess with it because it never hits the highway.
