On S. Sherwood Forest. I haven't been there in years and was curious.

The family split the business up
The 2 in Baton Rouge are now Heavenly Donuts. Been that way for almost 5 years now I think... Don't taste the same as Meche's.
Some of the Meche's in Broussard and Lafayette have changed to Cajun Donuts.
There are few real Meche's left...

The Meches are now owned by an Asian family. I think they own Dynasty Chinese.

I'm sure that would come as quite a shock to Rickey Meche, since his primary location is in Lafayette.

Here's a link. Meche's Donut King story

I picked up a dozen glazed and a dozen chocolate last Sunday from the Kaliste Saloom location. They were subpar TBH, usually much fresher than that. And I went at prime time 830AM.

One on Guilbeau Rd. in Lafayette is open. That is the best around. They have a Cajun Market Dounuts on Pinhook where Little Caesars used to be which I believe is the same family ,but they taste different imo...

Gotta go to the one on Guilbeau where Rickey works. Keeps them on their toes there. I've heard there have been some QC issues at the one on Kaliste.

We could debate quality but that would be pointless. I was responding to your assertion that the last real Meche's was in NI. The Meche's Donut King in Lafayette was established in 1970. The one in NI in 1986.
