Wtf is the world coming to. Type on a computer and print or even just email?

I’m slowly falling behind the times I guess.

Is cursive necessary really? Like I’m not saying it’s not, but I personally can’t think of a reason so I’m welcome to correction.

Why the hell would someone need to learn cursive in 2021?

There’s a lot wrong with our education system these days, but this isn’t one of them.

Why would they? It was always a waste of time.

I don't know for sure but I wouldn't be surprised. Other than my signature I have pretty much forgotten how to do so myself. You just never need to nowadays

What are taxes and how do I pay those?

Need not worry, mitochondria is the center of the cell.

I can confirm they don’t teach it anymore. I can also confirm it’s a good move. Learn to sign your name and move on. I’m 47 and outside of my name I haven’t written in cursive since 93.

Maybe it’s not necessary. I find that most peoples writing is illegible anyways. It’s like the have a crayon in their hand or something.

No one corrected my use of there instead of their? Where are the grammar nazis?

I don't see a need for it, but I'll say that my kids are in 5th grade and did learn cursive. Seems like it's certainly more of a secondary thing compared to when we were in school as it's not the way they write or the teachers have them write on assignments and tests but they did learn it.

They do at my kids school, but it's private. I did hear that public no longer teaches it.

It’s always people who couldn’t learn basic science fact who think the should have been taught the tax code in high school.

How bout you pass remedial math first.

True story: when I was in kindergarten, I learned to write my name and was very proud of it. I started writing it on my school papers. The old biddy I had for a teacher scratched it out and marked off for it.

It scarred me so much, I never wrote anything in cursive unless I had to. I even printed to take notes, and now my signature is the only thing I write.

I had beautiful penmanship, too.

Aside from a signature when is anyone currently in school ever going to need cursive at any point in their life?

I'm in my mid-30s and definitely learned it in elementary school and i have never had to use it in the real world, ever. Aside from in school where a teacher required it.

My kid learned it in 5th grade in Louisiana public schools. Since Covid it’s 120% computer though.

I was filling out new patient paperwork the other day. My hand was useless after the first page. I can't print anymore for shite much less write in cursive.
