Is it possible to get a truly factory look car window tint from the aftermarket?

I am considering tinting the front windows on my truck to match the back. I have worried about purple scratched film from my experiences years ago. Has the tech advanced to the point the film will look factory and stay looking factory?

Try and get ceramic tint if you can

I heard that tinting your car windows is trashy.

Your film turned purple because it was cheap as shite film. Go to a reputable tint installer. I've always used Mr tint on the industriplex if you're in Baton Rouge.

If you don't get cheap tint, it won't go purple. It's easy to match the front windows to the back.

Is it possible to tint over existing tint if you want something darker? Bought the car and it's got 20 or so on it.
I brought it in to get it tinted and the guy said it would cost me $150 more because he had to remove the old tint first, and in removing the tint from the back window, it may mess up my cars defrost setting for that window. I didn't reschedule because I couldn't decide what I wanted to do, also didn't want to drop $400 on it at the time.
Anyone have experience with this?

Go to Tom's on Florida Blvd in Denham. Dude does a great job. Had all our vehicles done by him. Check his FB, he runs specials a lot too

20 over 5 seems like a great way to attract police.

get good tint and don't clean it with ammonia based cleaner like windex

Alot of car dealerships typically bring the vehicles to local places to get tinted. Alot of vehicles with leather were done locally as well.

Tom's is the shite. Cool dude.
Gave me a quote one time on my side windows for my work truck, I get there and then he asks what price did he tell me over the phone as we are talking and he is getting the old film off. I tell him what he quoted and he drops the price $20 dollars. Maybe it was easier than he thought or because we knew a few of the same people. Regardless, I was good with the original quote and asked him are you sure? Wasn't going to ask twice.
Sent multiple people there and haven't heard a complaint yet.

quote:the tint on there now is in good condition, except one back window there's like a half inch corner that peeled a little. Other than that it's great and looks clean.
Yep, but the new tint will only last as long as the tint under it. I wouldn't do it unless the tint that's under it is in good condition
I'll check out some shops around where I am and see if they'll do it. Not trying to go super dark, just want it darker than it is now
