I don't recall seeing men wear ties with polos?? Usually the pocket doesn't have a logo on it. Am I wrong?

Yes. Perfectly ok. In fact, it's so classy that you don't even need to wear a coat or brush your hair. The symbol doesn't have to be polo, either - could be nautica, tommy, etc.

If it isn't close to this, then it's wrong.

Do they even make those small horse polos anymore? Hopefully not.

I'm a mom and my 13 year old has to wear a tie tomm for youth legislature. I just realized that all his long sleeve button downs that fit him at the moment are polos. my husband is overseas for work, so I'm asking here. I came over from pol board

Your kid is going to be fine. If you have it, make sure the shirt is white or light blue.

I don't see a problem with that

At first I thought you were talking about wearing a tie with this

Are you talking about a button-down shirt or one like Tino posted?

A button down and a polo are two different things.

I really thought you were asking about a long sleeve golf shirt.

If you mean this:

No tie should ever be worn.

If you mean this:

He'll be fine with a tie and probably look better than most kids at youth legislature.

Its a woven oxford button down- you know - not the soft cotton - the stiff woven cotton. It's white with tiny blue checks.

That should be ok?

I could run to Dillard's but it's like pulling teeth getting him in the dressing room
