Possible conference coming up there.
I know their neighbor to the east Jamaica is pretty trashy.

I don't know about the whole island, but I know a ton of cruises dock there, so anywhere near that would most assuredly be trashy.

no, it's one of the nicer places down there

Grand Cayman is very nice. Spent a week there and would definitely go back. Some of the most beautiful water you will ever find.

i believe they have more banks there than anywhere else.

While on a cruise, I swam with stingrays there.
It was awesome.

It is the least trashy island in the Caribbean.
Actually it's pretty square and there isn't a ton to do. Good snorkeling though.

Yes, huge finance center for that region,
Supposed to be the cleanest and most stable of the Caribbean countries.

Not at all. Pretty rich island for the Caribbean. Former British Colony so its a lot different than the spanish/french colonies.
Drive on the wrong side of the road, lots of banks, some pretty nice areas, not desperately poor for the most part (although obviously there is a lot of poors, its the Caribbean).
Its pretty nice, actually.

I hear it's completely surrounded by water and by OT standards, it may as well be NOLA.
Super Trashy. Prayers sent.

Not my favorite island. Seems kind of touristy, doesn't have a great local feel. If you like Pensacola/Destin type place you will probably enjoy this. Mediocre food and souvenir shops make up most of Georgetown.

Grand Cayman is awesome, lots of banks there and world class snorkeling/diving. Go to the Paradise Restaurant and snorkel right off the dock. They rent every thing there for $18 and its worth every penny, its like your swimming in an aquarium. Food is good too.

There is a lot of consanguinity on the island, similar to the State of Alabama, so there's that.
Check out the phone book, there are only one or two family names.
I have been to Grand Cayman a few times and it is always very nice. What's really nice is that they speak English and you can drink the water. The food is really good as well.

It's actually the most affluent island in the Caribbean and a huge financial hub, there are banking corporations everywhere. We were there in May and it's by the far the nicest/best vacation spot we've been to.

It's a good thing they didn't shank you right in the heart like they did to poor ol' Steve Irwin.

I like Grand Cayman, but it's very expensive and very flat. I tend to find the more mountainous Carribean islands more beautiful (Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, etc). But still very nice. 7 mile beach is great.
